Image sources and attribution
Every picture and clip in a montage comes from a public source on the open web, and Montage keeps that source with the frame: the page it came from, the publisher, and a link back. Nothing is presented as ours, and platform video plays through the platform's own player.
Where the material comes from
Montage searches public sources — the open web, image search, and the public pages of the platforms people post to. A candidate is kept only if it is really about the subject, is not a duplicate of one already on the board, and is not a watermarked or upscaled copy of someone else's work.
Frames Montage generated itself are labelled as generated. They are never passed off as photographs of a real place.
How credit is kept
A frame carries its source page, the publisher's name, and where available the creator's. That credit travels with the montage: it is on the frame, on the frame's own page, and in the montage's source list.
Opening a frame's source is one tap from the board. We would rather send a reader to the original than keep them on ours.
Video plays where it was posted
Short video from TikTok, YouTube and Instagram is embedded through each platform's official player rather than re-hosted. The creator keeps the view, the platform keeps its branding, and nothing is copied off their servers.
Asking for a removal
If your work is in a montage and you would rather it were not, tell us and we will remove it — no argument, no form to fight with. Email the address on our Terms page with the montage link and the frame, and we will take it out.
